The Argyle colour scale also uses the following acronyms: PP (Purplish Pink), P (Pink), PR (Pink Rose), PC (Pink Champagne). In terms of GIA, loose pink diamonds are graded as follows: faint, very light, light, fancy light, fancy, fancy intense, fancy vivid, fancy deep.

What do pink diamonds symbolise?

Due to their soft and feminine hue, pink diamonds are said to symbolise love, compassion and dedication. It is, therefore, little wonder why they are presented to loved ones as an everlasting sign of affection. The epitome of luxury and sophistication, a loose pink diamond is also consistently ranked among the world’s most desirable gemstones.

How rare are pink diamonds?

Pink diamonds are extremely rare, with only 0.01% of the world’s diamonds being pink. There are only a few locations in the world where you can find pink diamonds. The Argyle Diamond Mine in Western Australia, where 90% of the world’s supply of pink diamonds are produced, recently closed down which adds to their rarity.
