Frequently Asked Questions
Blush pink diamonds are the rarest and most precious diamonds in the world, harvested from the Argyle Diamond Mine in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia. Their exquisite blush pink colour is attributed to intense heat and great pressure from the stone’s formation in the earth. Blush pink diamonds are graded as FLP which stands for Fancy Light Pink. On the Argyle colour scale, the colours are graded as 8-9 PP/P/PR.
The majority of the world’s blush pink diamonds are harvested from the Argyle Diamond Mine in Western Australia. With the recent closure of the Argyle Diamond Mine in November 2020, the rarity of these blush pink diamonds are set to be even more difficult to attain. Their beauty combined with undersupply has made these diamonds a rare commodity.
Blush pink diamonds have historically been found in India, South Africa, Canada, Russia and Brazil. However, more than 90% of the world’s authentic blush pink diamonds originate from Western Australia. The supply of these rare diamonds were produced in the Argyle diamond mine from the 1980’s by Rio Tinto until recently, due to the closure of the mine. Our blush pink diamonds in our jewellery are from the Argyle diamond mine and are Australian.
